Detailed Description
Airplane History:
The airplane completed its construction on 12/7/70 and was given the call sign N9459M. The plane was then purchased new by Safari Air Services Ltd, located in Nairobi, Kenya, Africa and ferried to this destination on 1/21/71, giving it 63 hours of total flight time.
The call sign for the airplane was changed to 5Y-AMN and began its safari service for the next four and a half years. The airplane was sold to my father in June of 1975 and he flew it out of Soroti, Uganda for approximately one year. On 3/18/76, while still in Uganda, the airplane registration was changed to N71AA. My father and I ferried it back to the United States from May 13th through the 29th of 1976. It took 59 hours to complete.
My father flew the plane regularly throughout the US, Mexico and Canada until May of 2004, when I took possession of it because he had permanently lost his flight medical. I have maintained and flown it regularly on several trips since then but I am now single and have little need of a six passenger airplane with such substantial lift capability. It has thus been in our family for 32 years.
